My Finished Kitchen

This is a view from the laundry room looking toward the front of the house.

This is looking toward the laundry room,
which still needs a floor, so don't look too hard.

And this is where I spend the first hour of my mornings, sittting right there in the chair.
So thankful it's done after 3 years.
Although come to think about it,
those walls do look a bit bare,
maybe some pictures are needed.

Veterans Day in the South

This Veterans Day we took a field trip to the local Hollywood Cemetery (named for the numerous Holly Berry Trees, not the famous city in CA) where approximately 18,000 Confederate soldiers are buried.
This is one of many graves we saw that had the Confederate flag. So many of these soldiers were barely 20 years old.

This monument to the Confederate women was amazing:

Built in 1869.
Gabriel, our friend Kaili and Cali can be seen at the bottom.
The cemetery is huge and needless to say, we got lost. After more than 3 hours we found our exit and left a much more humble group.
Thank so much to all who serve our country and preserve our freedoms!

Happy Halloween from Our Family

We had a really great Halloween here in Virginia.
The weather had just a nip of chill to it and our neighborhood was filled with all kinds of spooky characters.
Cali went as a witch this year.
This is her before picture:
And below is her after picture. We used green food coloring instead of the yucky grease paint. It's taken a couple days, but I think we have most of it off.
Gabriel wanted to be Batman, then decided he'd rather hang out with his dad. We hooked him up with a groovy pair of Halloween flannel jammer bottoms, a bottle of root beer, a movie from the redbox, the t.v. remote and a bowl of candy. With his sister gone, he was one happy camper.

I hope you all had a really great and spooky Halloween too!
*Happy Birthday Michael Sarah!*
